Drunk pilot stranded airline passengers

In a bizarre incident, a flight from Stuttgart (Germany) to Lisbon (Portugal) delayed severely due to co-pilot being heavily drunk. According to reports, an airport staff notified the police, that a heavily drunk co-pilot with unsteadiness, started to prepare the flight for take-off. Police within no time grabbed the 40-year-old co-pilot from the cockpit and send for a medical analysis. Meanwhile, moreover, 106 passengers were hopelessly stranded upon the horrifying incident. Dhaka Travel Mart, the biggest international travel and tourism fair in Bangladesh, concluded. New Record for Qantas

Qantas Airways, the official airliner of Australia, sets a new record by flying from Perth to London non stop. The 17- hour long flight covering over 14,498km is the world’s third longest passenger flight. The incident also marks as the world’s first longest flight from a Boeing Dreamliner. Japan welcomed 20 per cent more tourists in 2017

Japan posts a huge surge in tourist arrivals with record 28.7 million tourists visiting the country in 2017. Compared to the 2016 figures, Japan posted a 20 per cent increase in growth rate. “The record growth rate is the highest in the world and is expected to continue,” said André Andonian, managing partner for Japan, McKinsey. In January of this year, the number of visitors to Japan rose 9 per cent compared to the same period previous year. The government is planning to attract at least 40 million tourists by 2020. Visitors from China surged to a record 1.2 million in February, swelled by the Lunar New Year holiday period. Thailand expects 38 million tourists overall this year, more than 10 million from China. China’s outbound travel market raked up 130 million trips in 2017, a 7 per cent increase on 122 million trips recorded in 2016. The online peer to peer cab service, Uber and Ola drivers from Mumbai have called off their strike after 3 days. The issue has been resolved after a team of leaders from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, met the company officials on Thursday. Brahmos supersonic missile tested at Pokhran

BrahMos, the supersonic cruise missile of India, has been successfully tested from Rajasthan’s Pokhran test range earlier today. “The precision strike weapon with Indian-made seeker flew in its designated trajectory, and hit the target with pinpoint accuracy,” tweeted Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Defence Minister. The incredible supersonic missile travels three times the speed of sound, with a range of over 290 kilometres. Etihad signs codeshare agreement with Swiss

Etihad Airways has signed a new codeshare partnership with Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss). Under the agreement, Etihad Airways will have its EY flight code on Swiss services between Geneva and Zurich, while Swiss will market its LX code on the Abu Dhabi carrier’s said services between Zurich and Abu Dhabi. Ernakulam to be air-horn-free

Around 100 air horns fitted in inter-state heavy vehicles were removed in a joint vehicle check that was carried out by officials from the State Transport Authority and the District Police Office in the city. The department wants to ensure that the city becomes air-horn-free and has strengthened the vehicle check. “Over 100 air-horn pipes have been seized in less than 2 hours, with the majority of them being found in inter-state heavy vehicles,” said George Joseph, Motor Vehicle Inspector. The city tourism bureau of New York City & Company (NYC & Co) has published a new record of over 62.8 million tourist arrival in the state during 2017. Ban on slaughterhouse near Delhi airport

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has issued a proposal to ban on slaughtering of animals and birds, within 10 km radius of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The new move is to ensure safety for flight, from scavenger birds that have been causing a frequent threat to aircraft.
