According to a survey by LinkedIn, famous social networking site dedicated to business and employment-related services, had revealed that Indian’s prefer being happy besides health and money. About 72 per cent Indians in the survey states that being happy is the ultimate achievement of success in their life. Survey also reveals that about 65 per cent of the respondent’s marks having good health, and a healthy work-life balance as the key symbol of success. Qatar files complaint against Bahrain at UN

Qatar filed a serious complaint at United Nations, regarding a Bahrain warplane over breaching the Qatari airspace. According to reports, two Qatari warplanes had flown dangerously close to two civilian aircraft approaching from UAE. The incident took place at Bahrain airspace and the complaint has been forwarded to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). However, Qatar denied the claim and said that UAE is covering its own violations happening at the Qatari airspace. Back in June 2017 Qatar has been banned by UAE along with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt in terms of its diplomatic and trade associations.

Intense heat wave hits Gujarat, Met dept issues warning for next 2 days

Summer is just approaching, and the temperature has gone up to 40-43° Celsius in several cities of Gujarat. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) department has issued a warning for a heat wave that is expected to hit Gujarat over the next 48 hours. Several regions will be affected by loo. According to the Met department, temperatures in coastal Gujarat are likely to soar. On Monday, Porbandar was the hottest area with a temperature of 43° Celsius, followed by Surat with a temperature of 41° Celsius. Two people have died due to the intense heat in the state.

Qatar Airways launches flights to Thessaloniki, Greece

China’s Tiangong-1 space station will crash land

China’s Tiangong-1 space station is all about to crash land to Earth’s orbit in the upcoming weekend. Tension exists as the location of the crash site is not yet predicted by scientists. Meanwhile, European Space Agency (ESA) states that the debris could hit the earth’s atmosphere 10 million times smaller than that of a lightning strike. 30 tonnes of fuel dumped from a Chinese airlines

In an attempt to initialize emergency landing, a Chinese pilot dumbed over 30 tonnes of fuel in mid-air, in an attempt to initialize emergency landing for a sick passenger on board. According to reports, the incident happened as a 60-year-old woman found with breathing difficulties, on board while travelling from Shanghai to NewYork. Even though the crew initiated first aid programme, the pilot took extreme measures to save the passenger’s life by throwing away the additional fuel, in order to safely land the heavy aircraft on the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Alaska. Smoking Elephant video went viral

In a bizarre incident, a wild elephant was seen blowing out some white smoke at Nagarhole forest in Karnataka. The video of the elephant with the act gone viral, after it has been uploaded by the Wildlife Conservation Society India (WCS). The clip clearly shows that the elephant had put something on the floor to blow it out like smoking. Government sanctions Rs 22.55 lakh for renovating 5 boat jetties

Kerala government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 22.55 lakh for the construction of 5 new boat jetties, as part of the infrastructure development under Muziris Heritage and Spice Route project. The project includes renovation and development of boat jetties at Kuttichira near North Paravoor, Gothuruth Valiyapally, Pallipuram Fort, Thiruvanchikulam, Kodungallur-Azhikode Marthoma Church. According to reports from the officials, about Rs 67.5 lakh was allotted for Kuttichira boat jetty followed by Pallipuram Fort and Gothuruth Valiyapally jetty granted Rs 42 lakhs for renovation. Kolhapur airport gets a new name

Maharashtra government led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, passed a resolution to rename the Kolhapur airport as ‘Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj airport’. Moving across political boundaries, the chair passed the resolution without any deny, sending it to the Centre for sanctioning. There has been a long-term demand from the people of Kolhapur to rename the airport, as Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj used to be the main architect behind the infrastructural development of Kolhapur, including the airport.  

Railway gains 1,000 cr revenue from fine

Indian Railways generated a sum of Rs 1,097 crores of revenue through imposing fines and penalties from ticket-less passengers. The amount has been collected during April 2017 to February 2018. According to reports, a sum of another Rs 200 crore had been generated by authorities during the month of March. In addition, Indian Railways has earned over Rs 600 crore per year via “flexi fares” (an increase of fare based on demand in premium trains). 48 dead, scores missing in Siberia shopping mall fire

At least 48 people were killed due to the fire at a busy shopping center at Kemerovo in western Siberia, with scores more reported missing, including children. Out of the 48 killed, 41 are children as per the reports. The preliminary findings of the inquiry said the fire started around 1100 GMT in one of the cinema halls and destroyed more than 1,000 square metres of the center. The roof collapsed in two theaters in the cinema and around 120 people had been evacuated from the burning center. Maharashtra bans plastic carry bags

Maharashtra government, at last, has ordered a complete ban on plastic carry bags and thermocol cutlery. State Minister for Environment, Ramdas Kadam pointed out that the use of plastic is the root cause of major illnesses. Maharashtra thus becomes the 18th state in India to put a strong decision against plastics.
