ITDC inks MoU with Morocco for tourism development

Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicraft and Social Economy, Kingdom of Morocco, Mohamed Sajid and Minister of State for Tourism (IC), Government of India, K J Alphons held a bilateral meeting on Tourism Cooperation between India and Morocco in New Delhi. During this meeting both the Ministers agreed to enhance the tourism cooperation between India and Morocco and to work towards increasing tourist arrivals between both countries. Ministry of Tourism to appoint strategic adviser for Chinese market

The government is taking a slew of measures to increase the number of tourists visiting India from China. And, as part of this initiative, the ministry is planning to appoint a strategic adviser for the Chinese market. Gorkhnath temple at Uttar Pradesh is going to have a face-lift with a project cost of Rs 6.5 crore. The renovation works will be carried out with the assistance from the Central Government. Southern railway to operate joy rides between Ooty and Ketti

Southern Railway is planning to operate round trip Udagamandalam-Ketti-Udagamandalam as part of Paryatan Parv 2018. Jet Airways reschedules Hong Kong flights due to Mangkhut Typhoon

Jet Airways have cancelled their flights to and from Hong Kong on 16th September 2018, due to the Typhoon Mangkhut. It was tweeted on their official twitter page. Odisha plans roadshows to promote sports tourism

Odisha government is planning to conduct road-shows to promote sports tourism in the state, in view of the forthcoming Hockey Men’s Cup to be taken place at Kalinga Stadium from 28th November to 16th December. Kollam port to boost tourism and cargo operations

Kollam port, in the southern district of Kerala, is expected to be a hub for cargo operations and cruise tourism, once the ongoing up gradation works are completed. Lebanon tourism minister urges an open budget for tourism investment

National Museum of Beirut, Lebanon Avedis Guidanian, Caretaker Tourism Minister of Labanon, urged the government to allocate an open budget for investment in the tourism sector in the country, as reported by local media. “Lebanon is not less attractive than Egypt, Jordan and Turkey, but their inbound tourist’s number is much more than that of Lebanon. Romania to open 20 overseas tourism promotion offices

Aiming at boosting inbound tourism to the country, Romanian government is planning to establish 20 overseas tourist promotion offices. The proposal was set forth by the Tourism Ministry, stating that the offices will be opened in major markets of Romanian tourism and the offices will have two employees nominated by the ministry. “The new measure intensifies the efforts to promote Romania as a major tourist destination on an international level,” said Nelu Barbu, Government Spokesman to the media.
