Mozambique aims at becoming No. 1 tourism destination in Africa: President

Filipe Nyusi, The President of Mozambique, said that culture and tourism are complementary of one another, and that the country must take advantage of its potential to boost development, aiming to be the most sought-after tourist destination in Africa by 2025. BMW to hike prices in India by up to 4% from January

German luxury car maker BMW said it will increase prices in India by up to 4 per cent with effect from January next year. The company sells a variety of vehicles in India ranging from SUV X1 to 7 Series sedan, priced between Rs 34.5 lakh and Rs 2.45 crore (ex-showroom). “From January 1, 2019, BMW India will increase the prices of its cars by up to 4 per cent,” BMW Group India Chairman Vikram Pawah said in a statement. India attained third position in the tourism sector after China and the US and 13.92 million jobs have been created in the sector in the last four years, Union Tourism Minister K.J. Alphons said. Indian tourists to Greece doubles in Jan-Sept

Indian tourist arrivals to Greece has more than doubled to 38,046 in the first nine months of the current calendar year. Around 17,376 Indian tourists visited Greece in the same period of 2017, according to a data by Greece National Tourist Office (GNTO) and Athens International Airport. “Greece as a destination has gained momentum over the years and we are glad to witness the rising interest of Indians for Greece as a popular holiday destination across the country. Quadricycles can now carry passengers

Bajaj’s quadricyle- RE 60 The government has included ‘Quadricycle’ as a ‘non transport’ vehicle in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, paving the way for such vehicles to carry passengers. More people are going abroad but they are spending less money on travel: Study

The 2018 Global Traveler Report reveals that despite record numbers of air travellers, up from 415 million in 2012 to a projected 808 million this year, the size of the travel retail market is slowly shrinking. Global travel retail spending has dropped by $15 billion from $397 billion in 2016 to a projected $382 billion this year. The average travelling consumer is now spending $491 per trip, almost $170 less than in 2012, says the report.
