Tiger Reserve Entrance Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR), located in the Southern Western Ghats in Tirunelveli District and Kanyakumari District in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is the second-largest protected area in Tamil Nadu State. The Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve was created in 1988 by combining Kalakad Wildlife Sanctuary (251 km) and Mundanthurai Wildlife Sanctuary (567 km), both established in 1962. Notification of 77 km of parts of Veerapuli and Kilamalai Reserve Forests in adjacent Kanyakumari district, added to the reserve in April 1996, is pending. Rs 727.16 cr sanctioned for development of 41 religious sites: K J Alphons

Rs 727.16 crore has been sanctioned for development of 41 religious sites under the Prasad scheme till now, said Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism K J Alphons. For development of tourism infrastructure in the country, the Ministry of Tourism launched the schemes of PRASHAD-Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive and Swadesh Darshan – Integrated Development of Theme-Based Tourist Circuits and in the year 2014-15. Development of ‘Dandi’ under Swadesh Darshan is underway: K J Alphons

The Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned the project “Development of Ahmedabad- Rajkot- Porbandar-Bardoli- Dandi” in Gujarat under Heritage Circuit theme of Swadesh Darshan scheme in the year 2016-17 for Rs 93.48 crore. The components sanctioned for Dandi under the above project include Tourist Facilitation Centre, Site Illumination, Development of Parking, Landscaping, Handicraft store/Khadi Exhibition Centre, Basic Tourist Amenities like public toilets, drinking water ATMs etc. “The project is under implementation stage. Now, travellers can enjoy a toy train ride in Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR). The first ever evening daily Toy train service hauled by steam engine has been introduced to increase the tourist footfall in the destination. Bengaluru going cycle-friendly; dedicated tracks to come on 100km of roads

Over 100 kilometres of city roads in Bengaluru will have dedicated cycle tracks soon. The first phase of the project, which covers 46 km stretch, will be ready in an year’s time. The phase 1 includes four roads in Indiranagar and a portion of the Outer Ring Road. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), have floated bids for the construction of cycle tracks at a cost of Rs 64 crore. Tourism revenue of Jordan shows increase during the first 11 months

Tourism Ministry of Jordan revealed on Monday that the revenue from tourism has reached USD 4.87 billion during the first 11 months of 2018. The revenue from tourism was USD 4.6 billion in 2017, while in 2016 it was USD 4.1 billion, as per records of the Central Bank of Jordan. As per the monthly statistical bulletin of the ministry, the number of inbound tourists during the month of November 2018 is showing an increase of 40.1 per cent, when compared to same period of 2017. New four line bridge to be build along MG Setu in Patna

Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Patna The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister, approved the project for construction of a 5.634 km long new 4 – lane bridge across river Ganga, 38 meters on upstream side of the existing Mahatma Gandhi Setu (MG Setu), along with approaches on NH-19 at Patna in the State of Bihar. The estimated project cost is Rs 2926.42 crore. The construction period for the project is three and a half years and it is likely to be completed by January, 2023. Chief Minister Pema Khandu has flagged of the `JK Tyre Orange 4X4 Fury’, as part of the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music, on 15th December 2018. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has appointed an adventure sports officer in Rishikesh. The appointment has been made in order to take care of the interests of those in the white water rafting business, facilitate swift redressal of problems faced in the sector and ensure disciplined operation of the river rafting business. Akkulam Tourist Village Kerala Tourism is planning a massive action plan to make Thiruvananthapuram one of the favoured tourist destinations in the state. Hainan to launch Xi’an-Los Angeles service on December 31

Hainan Airlines is planning to launch non-stop service between Xi’an and Los Angeles on December 31. It will be the first scheduled service between Xi’an and Los Angeles and the only intercontinental route between Xi’an and the United States. The Xi’an-Los Angeles service is scheduled to take off from Xi’an at 9:10 pm every Monday and Thursday BJT, and land at Los Angeles at 18:10 pm PT after being in the air for 12 hours and 10 minutes.
