South Korea issues visa advisory for Filipino travellers
South Korea announced a change in tourist visa application for Filipinos, following substantial increase in the number of applicants. ‘In the near future, walk-in applicants will no longer be accepted,’ the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines wrote on their Facebook page. Only travel agencies will be allowed to file tourist visa applications on behalf of the travellers. Since the embassy will no longer accept walk-in applicants, it will be designating travel agencies in Philippines to facilitate the application for tourist visa. ‘Visa-on-arrival’ policy comes into force in Pakistan
The government has started implementing the policy and issuing ‘visa-on-arrival’ to foreigners from a select group of 68 countries — including the US, Russia and the UK. The visa-on-arrival facility has been introduced under the ‘business visa on arrival (BVOA) for businessmen of these countries. The BVOA facility has 30 days validity for single entry and is being issued to businessmen coming to Pakistan from business-friendly countries. Pakistan is also offering visa-on-arrival to group tourists from 24 friendly countries.
IndiGo’s tyre bursts while landing at Hyderabad airport
An IndiGo flight suffered a tyre burst on a flight from Tirupati while landing at Hyderabad Airport. The flight had 77 people on board when it was landing at the airport wednesday evening during which the tyre burst. All passengers were evacuated safely, as per the airlines’ statement. After the aircraft was stuck on the runway, the authorities at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport had to suspend the operation. Qatar files complaint against Bahrain at UN
Qatar filed a serious complaint at United Nations, regarding a Bahrain warplane over breaching the Qatari airspace. According to reports, two Qatari warplanes had flown dangerously close to two civilian aircraft approaching from UAE. The incident took place at Bahrain airspace and the complaint has been forwarded to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). However, Qatar denied the claim and said that UAE is covering its own violations happening at the Qatari airspace. Back in June 2017 Qatar has been banned by UAE along with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt in terms of its diplomatic and trade associations.

Sharjah’s 3rd industrial street towards Dubai to be closed for 3 weeks
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the road in Industrial Area 3 will be closed for three weeks from March 25 until April 15 Motorists have been advised to use alternative roads heading into Dubai through the industrial area, and can instead use the second industrial street and the fourth industrial street. The road works include putting down new asphalt will affect motorists travelling towards Sharjah Ring Road, reads the official Twitter account of the Sharjah RTA. The temporary road closure is part of a series of works to improve the infrastructure.

Vembanad lake in Alappuzha, famed for its ornately carved traditional houseboats, is the centerpiece of Kerala’s tourist trade. Pollution is turning the largest wetland ecosystem in south India, Vembanad lake in Alappuzha into a weed-clogged swamp, hampering the recovery of tourism in the region. The Karipur airport runway will remain closed for seven hours in the morning from March 25 onwards. The runway will remain closed as part of the construction work of Runway End Safety Area (RESA) From March 25 to April 15, the runway will be closed between 12.00 pm and 07.00 pm. Ukraine reaches on agreement with Kuwait on simplification of visa regime
Ukraine and Kuwait have agreed on bilateral simplification of the visa regime during the meeting of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. “An agreement was reached on simplifying the visa regime on the basis of reciprocity and including Ukraine in the list of countries for which citizens visas will be issued at the international airport of Kuwait or electronically.
