Commerce Minister requests KJ Alphons to set up IITTM at Konkan region
Ratnagiri, Konkan Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu has requested KJ Alphons, the Tourism Minister of State, to set up Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) at Ratnagiri or Sindhudurg to promote the development of this region. Goa and Japan plan to have ties between the two regions to boost tourism. Ryoji Noda, Consul General of Japan met Menino D’Souza, Director of Tourism, Goa on Thursday, 6th September 2018. Learn adventure tourism in Himachal university
The Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) is giving an opportunity to do a course in adventure tourism. The information was stated by Dr SP Bansal, Vice-Chancellor of the University. Dr Bansal informed that the central government had assured the university a grant of Rs 2.5 crore for the course. Karnataka introduces Augmented Reality in tourism hotspots
Hampi, Karnataka Karnataka tourism is introducing Augmented Reality (AR) technology in 20 major tourism centers. As pilot projects, AR interventions are already active in heritage sites in the city such as Cubbon Park, Bangalore Palace, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, Bangalore Fort, Lalbagh and some old structures on MG Road. Tourist guide Sudhakar Embar dies, while on duty in Chennai
Sudhakar Embar (54), renowned tourist guide from Karnataka, died on Saturday, 12th August 2018. The death came in the form a heart attack, while he was on duty, accompanying a tourist team in Chennai. He was taking the tourists from the Chennai International Airport to the hotel where they were staying. Some recent news says, construction workers has found a statue of ‘lion’s body with a human head’, underneath, while they were working on a road at Al Kabbash. Tourists trapped in Munnar’s Plum Judy Resort rescued
All the tourists including 30 foreign tourists who were trapped following a landslide in the Plum Judy Resort in Munnar are safe, informed Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran. The minister has also urged the authorities to shift the tourists from Idukki to a safer place. The minister gave instructions to the resort owners and also spoke to the foreigners who were trapped inside and assured all the possible help from the government. Emirates has launched a new service for customers in Bangladesh, giving them the option of applying for short stay visas to at the airline’s ticket counters.
