The 9th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit gets underway at Mahatma Mandir Exhibition cum Convention Centre in Gandhinagar on 18th January 2018. Year 2018 witnessed around 65.2 million tourist arrivals in New York. It was acknowledged by the New York Tourism Board, stating that British people topped the list of foreign visitors. According to statistics, around 51.6 million domestic and 13.5 million foreign tourists visited the city last year, almost 3 per cent more than that of overseas visitors in 2017. Wayand district is ranked first in the implementation of Swatch Bharat programmes in the country. It was acknowledged by the Central Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Wayanad scored more points as per various parameters to win the position. As per reports, eight districts from Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Kerala have implemented to programmes in an efficient manner, where Wayanad topped the list. War flight Tupolev-TU 142 M, the anti-submarine warfare aircraft of Indian Navy, will be converted to a defence museum in Hyderabad. Telangana State Tourism Department in association with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is planning to establish the defence museum in Hyderabad where defence related labs and missiles would be exhibited for the public. Hainan, China’s southern province plans to construct a scenic highway around the island in the first half of 2019 to boost tourism. It was informed by the provincial transport department. The new highway, which stretch around 1,040 kilo meters will link 12 cities and counties in Hainan.
