Preferences of Chinese tourists have been undergoing changes and more destinations are in their preferred lists, other than Paris and Eiffel Tower, said a tourism official from France. “Chinese tourists prefer to travel in smaller groups or alone. As per records around 48 per cent of Chinese tourists have been to Paris at least once during the past five years. Tourism sector of Spain saw slow growth in 2018, as the rival countries like Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia recovered during the time. It was revealed by a report by industry lobby group Exceltur The sector ratcheted up USD 162 billion in sales, 2 per cent more than in 2017, as per a recent report; while that growth was slower than in previous years. According to the most recent data provided by national system eVisitor, a record number of tourists visited Croatia in 2018, the Croatian tourism ministry said on Wednesday, 2nd January 2019. A total of 19.7 million tourists travelled to Croatia last year, which is more than 6.5 per cent when compared to same period in 2017. Overnight stays also rose to 106 million, depicting an increase of 4 per cent from the previous year. Visitors of Venice should pay a visitor tax to get in to the city center
Venice The local government in Venice is planning to charge day-trippers for access to the city’s historic center, as a way to help defray the considerable costs of maintaining the popular tourist destination. It is as per the new budget law of Italy.
