Emergency landing for IndiGo aircraft
An IndiGo flight 6e559, heading from Srinagar to Jammu has initiated emergency landing, after finding a fuel leak from one of the engines by the pilot. The shocking highlight of the story is that it is the 6th incident, faced by the company with their Airbus 320 neon fleet. Poor visibility affects flight arrivals & departures in Hyderabad
Owning to poor visibility as many as ten flights were diverted and four cancelled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. Of the four flights cancelled was a Muscat-bound international flight scheduled to depart at 3.30pm. Airlines, including Jet Airways, Indigo, Spice-Jet and Air India, were forced to divert and delay flights due to poor visibility on the runway. The recent flight cancellations by IndiGo and GoAir because of engine failure and the high surge in ticket rates have turned the passengers violent as most of them started venting out their anger through the social media channels.
FIFA World Cup: Russian fans can now fly visa-free
Russian fan can visit the country visa-free for the World Cup this summer. To encourage attendance, organizers have created a special Fan ID pass that will allow foreign soccer fans to visit Russia between June 4 and July 15 without having to apply for a separate tourist visa. IndiGo, GoAir to cancel 600 plus flights
IndiGo and GoAir are planning to cancel around 620 flights this month due to engine malfunction. The airlines will give passengers an option to choose an alternate flight or get a full refund. Of which 480 belongs to IndiGo will cancel 480; the rest are of GoAir. Earlier this week, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had grounded 11 Airbus A320 neo aircraft due to recurring malfunctions in their engines. Air India Twitter account hacked
In a shocking incident, National Carrier Air India’s official Twitter account has been hacked by Turkish cyber crime army “IayyAldAzt” on Thursday midnight. Hackers posted misleading messages in Turkish language that contained flight cancellation tweets. A detailed inquiry was ordered by the senior airline officials in the wake of the current circumstances. “Last minute important announcement. All our flights have been cancelled. Vietnam – India direct flights soon
For the first time, India and Vietnam would be linked through direct flights by Vietjet by the third quarter of 2018. The announcement was made during the Vietnam – India Business Forum held recently. Vietjet will begin four-times-weekly services between Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi on April 5. Travellers from India will be able to fly directly to Vietnam and vice versa, which is going to give a big boost to tourism activities between the two countries. Over 49 people feared dead at Kathmandu plane crash
It was a dark day in the history of aviation, as the Bangla flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu crash landed killing over 49 people on board. IndiGo has cancelled as many as 47 flights today after aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) grounded eight A320Neo planes of IndiGo with faulty Pratt & Whitney engines, along with three such aircraft of GoAir. IndiGo has cancelled 47 flights across its domestic network, the airline announced on its website. Russia introduces new hyper-sonic missile
Russia, as part of strengthening their military power, had successfully tested the hypersonic missile that travels 10 times the speed of sound.
