SpiceJet to operate Delhi-Adampur direct flight from May
SpiceJet has announced it will launch daily direct flight between Delhi and Adampur (Jalandhar) from May, its sixth destination under the UDAN scheme. The airline was awarded Adampur under under the first round of UDAN. “With the introduction of the daily direct flight services on the Delhi-Adampur-Delhi route, SpiceJet earmarks its sixth destination under the Regional Connectivity Scheme. Air India resumes Delhi-Durgapur flight
Air India resumes its direct flight linking industrial town of Durgapur in West Bengal with Delhi after a gap of nearly 22 months. The flight AI-756, with a 122-seater Airbus A319 aircraft, will leave Durgapur at 08:25 am and arrive at Delhi at 10:35 am. Kota-Delhi flights withdrawn days after inauguration
It was just two days before that the flights between Kota and Delhi was inaugurated, and it have been stopped now following objections raised by the airport authorities over mandatory clearances for operating commercials flights. Low-cost carrier, Supreme Airlines had started operating flights between Kota and Delhi from April 11, using a nine-seat fixed wing craft. Kuwait Airways suspends flights to Beirut
Kuwait Airways has announced that it has suspended flights to Beirut because of security concerns. According to the airline, the decision was made following “serious warnings” from authorities in Cyprus. Earlier, Lebanon’s national airline, Middle East airline, said it was rerouting some flights because of the “recent security situation” between the United States and Syria. Maiden direct commercial flights from Kota-Delhi commenced from Kota airport. In August, Kota was connected with Jaipur, and now the flight will connect Kota with Delhi as well. From now on Indonesians can afford multiple entries to South Korea within five years, with each visit allowed to last up to 30 days. The new visa policy is expected to increase the number of Indonesian visitors to South Korea. UAE’s two leading international airlines, Emirates and Etihad, have confirmed the temporary reduction and suspension of services to a number of its global destinations during the summer and autumn periods. Emirates is set to reduce its Dubai to Fort Lauderdale and Dubai to Orlando services from daily to five times a week from early July. Emirates is also set to slightly reduce its services to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpar, Phuket, Munich and London Heathrow in the coming months. Emirates sets new record with in-flight Wi-Fi connections
Emirates has set a new record with over 1 million Wi-Fi connections made on board its flights in March alone. During the month, 1,037,016 Emirates customers connected to the internet during their flight. The connections were mainly made over mobile devices with over 94 per cent of users connecting with a smartphone –twice as many connections were made on an iOS mobile phone as compared to an Android mobile, and about 2 per cent with a tablet. Myanmar introduces fast-track tourist visa
Myanmar has introduced a fast-track tourist visa that delivers confirmation within 24 hours of the application, year-round, including public holidays. The Tourist Visa Express Service, launched on a trial basis, has come with a streamlined approval process for all nationalities that are eligible for an e-tourist visa. The application is made online at the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population’s website and would cost USD 56. There is a 24-hour turnaround approval via an email confirmation, 365 days of the year.
