SpiceJet launches 28 additional daily flights from today
SpiceJet has started 28 daily flights connecting Mumbai and Delhi with other cities on its domestic network from today. In addition, SpiceJet has further announced new non-stop international flights to Hong Kong, Jeddah, Dubai, Colombo, Dhaka, Riyadh, Bangkok and Kathmandu from the Mumbai effective May-end. The new flights from Mumbai are on the Mumbai-Jaipur-Mumbai, Mumbai-Amritsar-Mumbai, Mumbai-Mangalore-Mumbai and Mumbai-Coimbatore-Mumbai sectors. The airline has also enhanced operations with additional frequencies from the city on the routes of Mumbai-Patna-Mumbai, Mumbai-Hyderabad-Mumbai and Mumbai-Kolkata-Mumbai. GoAir has announced 28 additional flights, starting April 26, offering passengers multiple FlySmart options. The new flights will be connecting 12 destinations, namely, Mumbai (8 flights), Delhi (7), Nagpur (3), Ahmedabad (2), Goa (1), Chandigarh (1), Ranchi (1), Jaipur (1), Lucknow (1), Patna (1), Pune (1) and Kochi (1). Buddha Air’s Kolkata-Kathmandu flight launch delayed till May 27
Nepal based Buddha Air, has delayed the launch of Kolkata-Kathmandu operations by over a month because of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. “Both the India government and all agencies involved with aviation business suggested to begin the service post election. So we decided to defer it,” said Rupesh Joshi, Marketing Director, Buddha Air. Buddha Air will operate thrice a week- Monday, Wednesday and Friday from May 27 2019. Emirates expands its A380 network with the introduction of scheduled service to Riyadh
Emirates will be providing more options and choice for its customers in Riyadh with the introduction of the first scheduled Airbus A380 service to the capital city, effective 21 April 2019. Riyadh will be the 51st destination to join the Emirates A380 network. Flight EK 817/818, currently operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, will now be operated by the iconic and highly popular Emirates A380. Etihad Airways operates single-use plastic free flight on Earth Day today
Etihad Airways, the national airline of UAE, will be the first airline in the region to operate a flight without any single-use plastics on board, in a bid to raise awareness of the effects of plastic pollution. Emirates to expand reach in India with SpiceJet codeshare partnership
Emirates and SpiceJet have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enter into a reciprocal codeshare agreement, which is set to open new routes and destinations for passengers travelling between India and popular destinations across Africa, America, Europe and the Middle East. India ranks third in domestic air passenger traffic growth: IATA
The domestic market of India continues to perform strongly, again registering double digit growth over the year to February, according to International Air Transport Association (IATA). China and Russia topped the growth chart with 11.4 per cent and 10.1 per cent year-on-year growth rates respectively. This marks the 54th consecutive month of double-digit domestic RPK growth for India. A generally solid economic backdrop, combined with continued growth in the number of airport pairs have all contributed to this sustained growth performance. RPK is a measure of passenger volumes. DXB runway shut for repair; Air India, Air India Express to operate from Sharjah
Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) runway will be closed for repair work between April 16 and May 30. In view of this, Air India and Air India Express have announced a change in airport for some of their flights during the runway renovation period in Dubai International Airport. Emirates has resumed its operations to Zagreb for summer, serving the route until 26 October 2019. Its partner airline, flydubai will then begin to operate during the winter season. IndiGo adds 3 new international flights from Mumbai
Effective June 05, IndiGo will fly daily non-stop from Mumbai to Jeddah and Abu Dhabi.
