Kerala’s pioneering Responsible Tourism (RT) initiative will be emulated by Madhya Pradesh and the MoU for implementation of the model, which involves local communities and makes tourism a tool for rural development, was inked on Wednesday. The two states signed a joint declaration under which Kerala will extend a series of services under a 16-point program. In a welcome move, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved a restart package to the tourism sector of the state. Through this, the state government has offered a restart package to the tune of INR 198.5 crore with interest subvention for assisting tourism establishments to restart their operations and support their fixed expenses and wage liabilities. The Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Thailand has announced that foreign golfers with advance arrangements for golfing in Thailand will be allowed to undergo a golf quarantine as an alternative local state quarantine option. The Government of Kerala has finally decided to reopen spas and ayurvedic resorts in the state, which were closed for over nine months due to the novel coronavirus. The decision was announced by the state Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran.
