Kumbha Mela 2019 to be a global event: Tourism Minister
KJ Alphons, Union Tourism Minister for State said on Monday that the government is planning to launch a campaign for promoting Kumbh Mela across the country with a tag line ‘Chalo Kumbh Chalo’. The campaign may include releasing advertisements at major international airports of the country and organising the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2019 in Varanasi to lure the Pravasi Bharatiya delegates. കണ്ണൂരില്‍ നിന്ന് വിദേശത്തേക്ക് വിമാന സര്‍വീസിന് അനുമതിയായി
കണ്ണൂര്‍ വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍നിന്ന് അബുദാബിയിലേക്കും ദമാമിലേക്കും വിമാന സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ക്ക് അനുമതിനല്‍കി. ജെറ്റ് എയര്‍വേസ്, ഗോ എയര്‍ വിമാന സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ക്കാണ് അനുമതി നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. കേന്ദ്ര വ്യോമയാനമന്ത്രി സുരേഷ് പ്രഭു മന്ത്രി അല്‍ഫോന്‍സ് കണ്ണന്താനത്തെ അറിയിച്ചതാണ് ഇക്കാര്യം. കണ്ണൂര്‍-ദോഹ റൂട്ടില്‍ ഇന്‍ഡിഗോയും കണ്ണൂര്‍-അബുദാബി, കണ്ണൂര്‍-മസ്‌കറ്റ്, കണ്ണൂര്‍-റിയാദ് റൂട്ടുകളില്‍ എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യ എക്‌സ്പ്രസും അപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും ഈ സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ക്ക് അനുമതി നല്‍കുമെന്നും മന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. കണ്ണൂര്‍ വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍നിന്ന് സര്‍വീസ് നടത്താന്‍ വിദേശ വിമാനക്കമ്പനികള്‍ക്ക് അനുമതി നല്‍കുന്നത് നയത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാകും. വി. മുരളീധരന്‍ എം.പി.ക്കൊപ്പമാണ് കണ്ണന്താനം ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച സുരേഷ് പ്രഭുവിനെ കണ്ടത്.
ASI to exhibit never seen before artefacts in Red Fort
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is preparing to exhibit never seen before artefacts, including rare coins, pottery and clay utensils for the public. Archaeological Museums display objects on rotation basis which facilitates visitors to know about all important objects of different historical periods in totality. Four museums are being set up in Colonial buildings in Red Fort in which original antiquities will also be showcased. Jamaican tourism industry in a forward swing
Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica As per a statement released by the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), the island country’s tourism industry is in a path of growth. The JTB said, Jamaica celebrated an overall market growth of 5.4 per cent for the first six months of the year. Stopover tourist arrivals marked 1.25 million (5.9 per cent more than last year) and cruise arrivals were around one million (4.8 per cent more than last year) The tourism industry earned around USD 1.459 billion from stopover arrivals and USD 100.6 million from cruise tourists. Thomas Cook ties up with Seoul for tourism promotion
Thomas Cook India, the famous travel service provider, announced on 24th July that they have signed an agreement with Seoul Tourism to promote Seoul as a leisure destination for travellers from India. അമിത ഊര്‍ജ ഉപയോഗം കുറക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി രാജ്യത്തെ റെയില്‍വേ കോച്ചുകളില്‍ സോളാര്‍ പാനലുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കാന്‍ പദ്ധതി. പാസഞ്ചര്‍ ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ക്കുള്ളിലുള്ള ഫാനുകള്‍, ലൈറ്റുകള്‍, മൊബൈല്‍ ചാര്‍ജിങ് സ്ലോട്ടുകള്‍ എന്നിവയുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടിയാണിത്. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ റെയില്‍വേ ഫോര്‍ ഓള്‍ട്ടര്‍നേറ്റ് ഫ്യുയല്‍സ് (ഐആര്‍ഒഎഎഫ്) ആണ് പാനലുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷം ഡെമു ട്രെയിനുകളില്‍ പരീക്ഷണാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ സോളര്‍ പാനലുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരുന്നു. പലപ്പോഴും ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ വേഗത കുറച്ചോടുമ്പോള്‍ ബാറ്ററിയുടെ ചാര്‍ജിങ് ശരിയായ രീതിയില്‍ നടക്കാത്തതിനാലാണ് ഈ നടപടിയെന്നു റെയില്‍വേ അധികൃതര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ആദ്യ പടിയായി സീതാപുര്‍ – ഡല്‍ഹി റിവാരി പാസഞ്ചര്‍ ട്രെയിനില്‍ പാനലുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതായും അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാര്‍ സ്ഥാപനമായ സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ ഇലക്ട്രോണിക്‌സ് ലിമിറ്റഡിനാണ് സോളര്‍ പാനലുകളുടെ നിര്‍മാണ ചുമതല. ഓരോ കോച്ചിലെയും പാനല്‍ പ്രതിദിനം 15-20 യൂണിറ്റ് വൈദ്യുതി ഉല്‍പാദിപ്പിക്കും. ഒരു ട്രെയിനിലെ സോളര്‍ പാനലുകളുടെ പരമാവധി ഭാരം 120 കിലോയായിരിക്കും. ആദ്യ ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ ഡെമു, പാസഞ്ചര്‍ ട്രെയിനുകളിലായി 250 കോച്ചുകളിലാണ് സോളര്‍ പാനലുകള്‍ ... Uttarakhand Tourism Professional Association (UTPA), an association of professionals from the tourism and associated industries in Uttarakhand, has decided to identify lesser known destinations in the state. The UTPA is planning to promote and market those lesser known destinations to take the benefits of tourism to the state’s hinterland. The association feels that it would help in arresting the migration of people from rural areas to the big cities in search of livelihood. India’s first state-run all-woman hotel to come up in Kerala
The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) is all set to open India’s first public sector hotel run entirely by women for women in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram. Named ‘Hostess’, the hotel will open its doors within six months, close to the main bus stand and the Central Railway Station in the city. Music pillars of Hampi, Karnataka Ministry of Tourism has identified 17 sites in 12 clusters in the country for development under Iconic Tourist Sites Development Project, pursuant to Budget Announcements of 2018-19. Visa-free entry to Russia for FIFA-2018 Fan ID holders
Great news for FIFA 2018 Fan ID holders! Holders of FIFA fan ID will be granted visa-free entry to Russia until the end of this year. Furthermore, family members and friends of the cardholders travelling with them may also be exempted from the requirement of visa to enter the country. This was declared by the Russian President, Putin at a meeting with World Cup volunteers, as reported by the Russian news agency TASS.
