Thirteen Vistadome coaches to enjoy a scenic journey in India
Photo Courtesy: India Rail Info All mountain railways in India will now have vistadome coaches, allowing passengers to enjoy the scenic beauty of hilly terrains. The latest addition of vistadome or glass-enclosed coaches have been made to the Nilgiri Mountain Railway. Luxurious 13 coaches with glass ceiling termed as- Vistadome coaches having panoramic view have been introduced on 8 scenic routes by Ministry of Railways. Some of these coaches will have infotainment system as well along with larger glass windows and high-class interiors. Air India to launch direct flights from Kolkata and Indore to Dubai
Air India has announced that the first flight from Indore to Dubai will take off on July 15. Air India has already started taking bookings and over a dozen people have already booked the tickets for the inaugural flight within the first six hours. The new flight will take off from Indore on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flight will depart from Indore at 4.40 pm and reach Dubai at 7.05 pm on Mondays. Emirates expands services for busy Hajj season
Emirates will be expanding its services to Jeddah and Medina with an additional 46 flights to help facilitate travel for Hajj pilgrims heading to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The flights will be operated between 27 July and 22 August to support the Hajj journey to the Holy City of Mecca. The services will run in parallel with Emirates’ regularly scheduled services to Jeddah and Medina, and will be available to travellers holding a valid Hajj visa. SpiceJet introduces Riyadh as its 10th international destination
SpiceJet has launched eight new non-stop international flights from Mumbai and Delhi. The airline is the first Indian LCC to connect Mumbai with Riyadh and Dhaka and Delhi with Dhaka and Jeddah. Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia, earmarks SpiceJet’s 10th international destination and the fourth station in the Middle Eastern market. The flights to Dhaka and Jeddah are effective from the last week of July while the flight to Riyadh will commence on August 15, 2019. Chip-enabled passports soon to be a reality
Indian citizens will soon be able to carry chip-enabled e-passports with advances speciality features. The government is in the process to roll out advance security feature in passports, said External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar on the Passport Seva Divas. “We propose to pursue the manufacture of e-passports on priority so that a new passport booklet with advanced security features can be rolled out in the near future,” said the minister. In an effort to ramp up Indian outbound tourists visiting Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Tourism in collaboration with SriLankan Airlines, The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) and inbound tour operators has introduced attractive packages, specifically targeting India, the number one source market, to revive the industry that had a temporary setback due to the recent incident. Qatar Airways and Emirates recently announced their recent launch of new year round services between Portugal and India. Seven times weekly services in summer 2019 and five times weekly service in winter 2019/2020 by Qatar Airways to Lisbon.
