India pavilion opens at WTM London with 30 exhibitors

Incredible India is participating at the largest international exhibitors of the travel and tourism industry, World Travel Market London, to showcase India as a preferred destination for tourism. This year, the India pavilion focuses on targeting internal experiences of travellers by showcasing not only India’s culture and heritage but also niche tourism products such as cuisine, wellness, yoga, wildlife and luxury. Chennai-Jaffna flight service of Air India postponed by 10 days

The Jaffna international flight service of Air India’s Alliance Air, which was scheduled to kick off operations from November 1, has been delayed by about 10 days “due to paperwork and certain issues that are being sorted out,” according to officials. “There is some paperwork going on at the moment and certain approvals need to be got,” said an Air India official. “Since this is between two countries, a few issues are also being sorted out,” the official added. “We will be finalising the date soon and we will give a couple of days for opening the booking process and ... APTDC launches food zones in tourist hotspots

With an aim to attract more tourists to the state, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), has set up food zones at three popular tourist spots in the state. The new facilities have been set up at Bheemili, Araku, and Yaradu beach. Kerala to be differently-abled friendly by 2021

Tourist destinations in Kerala are all set to go “differently-abled friendly” by 2021, said state tourism minister Kadamapally Surendran, while replying to a question by MLA Veena George. The government has identified around 120 tourist spots across the state in the first phase. Of these, 98 destinations have already been made completely specially-abled friendly “The work on the remaining centres are in progress, all the specially-abled friendly tourist spots will have special parking areas and toilet facilities,” said the minister. IRCTC launches OTP based refund for cancelled & wait-listed tickets

Indian Railways introduces a new OTP based refund system for tickets booked through authorized railway ticketing agents. This is aimed to bring in a transparent and customer friendly refund system for reserved e-tickets which are cancelled or which are fully waitlisted dropped tickets. This new system will be implemented by Indian Railways PSU, Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC). The OTP (One time Password) will be received as SMS on the registered mobile number of the passenger (provided by the customer/passenger to the agent at the time of booking).
