Mc Donald, the American fast-food chain, had inverted their famous iconic Golden Arches ‘M’ logo to ‘W’ as part of celebrating International Women’s Day. An outlet in California had physically flipped the logo outside its premise, followed by employees wearing special t-shirts and hats at 100 locations across America. Multiple reactions arise among social media platforms like facebook, twitter and Instagram, as it is a marketing strategy by the corporate giant. Snow alert declared for Sioux Falls

The city of Sioux Falls in South Dakot is under a snow alert, which officially began at 5:30 a.m. today.   as Monday’s snow storm is cleared from the roads, and vehicles that are on the road at the wrong time could be ticketed or towed. The MET Eireann  has sent out Orange Alert and said the snow-melt will continue to lead to an accumulation of surface water bringing the risk of flooding in the region. “Mist and fog will gradually lift this morning leaving a cold day with mostly cloudy skies and a few patches of rain or drizzle. 120 Dublin flights cancelled

The travellers are in fury as Aer Lingus and Ryanair cancelled around 100 flights from Dublin Airport owing to the continued weather havoc in the region. Other airlines, including BA, KLM and Air France, have also cancelled flights, with almost 120 services cancelled in Dublin throughout the day. Dublin airport remains open and operational, but passengers can expect delays. “We are doing everything we can to re-accommodate affected customers and minimise disruption to their travel plans and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by these disruptions which are entirely outside of our control,” says Ryanair.

Avalanche at California ski resort leaves two injured

Two people were injured at Squaw Valley Ski Resort in California ski after an avalanche caught five people. One of them is seriously injured, report sates. Dozens of rescuers rushed to the scene Friday afternoon at  east of Sacramento. One man was hospitalized with a serious lower body injury, another person was treated and released and three people weren’t hurt. The resort has been closed. The avalanche occurred a day after a snowboarder died at the resort after a blizzard packing 150-mph winds hit the Sierra Nevada.

As the powerful NorthEaster brings in heavy rains and gusty winds, the authorities have issued a snow alert in New York City. Drivers are urged to use extra caution while out in the storm. Fiji, Alaska Airlines expand partnership

Fiji Airways and Alaska Airlines have expanded their current partnership by signing a codeshare agreement on flights from San Francisco to two popular US cities. The codeshare agreement enables Fiji Airways to place its “FJ” code on Alaska Airlines’ flights from SFO to Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX), offering Fiji Airways guests seamless connections to these cities via San Francisco, and vice-versa for Alaska Airlines’ guests. Chile creates five national parks over 10 mln acres

President of Chile Michelle Bachelet and Kristine McDivitt Tompkins, President and CEO of Tompkins Conservation sign decrees creating 10 million acres of new National Parks. This includes Tompkins Conservation’s two flagship parks, Patagonia and Pumalín. The one million acres and world-class infrastructure they contain have been billed as the largest donation of land from a private entity to a country. A record number of 43.7 million tourists visited Toronto in 2017, led by Americans, Chinese and British tourists. According to the latest statistics released by Tourism Toronto, tourists pumped $8.8 billion into the local economy in 2017. Yellow fever: WHO warns travellers to Sao Paulo

Web Desk Sao Paulo   The World Health Organization warns travellers to Sao Paulo stating the destination is at risk for yellow fever. WHO is also recommending that all international visitors to the state be vaccinated.
