Agasthyarkoodam Trekking: Bookings will start on January 6
It will be open to the public from mid-January to mid-February. A maximum of 100 people are allowed to travel in a day. It is a 27 km trek through dense forest where wildlife and amphibians roam. Agasthyarkoodam is located at an elevation of 6200 ft above sea level. Those who want to visit Agasthyarkoodam this time can book now.
Tickets can be booked through the Forest Department’s website at www.forest.kerala.gov.in or through serviceonline.gov.in/trekking. Travel is not permitted for children under 14 years of age. After a long period of protest, the government lifted the ban on women trekking to Agasthyarkoodam. This time too, women can go trekking.
The trekking season is from January 14 to February 26. This time too, the admission is for a maximum of 100 people a day. The ticket price is Rs 1331 per person. Bookings will start at 11 a.m. on January 6.
Passengers must carry a complete vaccination certificate and a negative RTPCR test report taken within 72 hours.
