Mettupalayam Ooty train service resumed

The Mettupalayam-Ooty mountain train service resumed on Monday. The train service was launched four months later as part of the reopening of tourist destinations in Tamil Nadu following the slowdown in covid expansion.

The train will leave Mettupalayam at 7.10 am daily and reach Ooty at 11.55 am. The train will return from Ooty at 2 pm and reach Mettupalayam at 5.30 pm. A total of 180 seats. Of these, 40 are first class. Tickets can be reserved through the website www.irctc.co.in. The fare is Rs 600 for first-class and Rs 295 for second class.

Tickets can be obtained by booking in advance as there is a rush of passengers. Shuttle services have also been started on the Coonoor-Ooty route.
