Thekkady opens; The tourism sector is hoping that the withdrawal of the rate hike will attract more tourists

The doors of the Periyar Tiger Reserve Center will reopen to tourists on Monday after a long hiatus of months. Tourism resumes in Thekkady following the covid protocol. The withdrawal of increased boat tickets and ecotourism event rates during covid is expected to attract more tourists.

The restrictions were relaxed following covid. However, the increase in ticket prices has made it difficult for tourists. Boating in Thekkady per person, including boat ticket and entry fee, had to spend around Rs.500. This led to a major crisis.
