The state budget envisaging a long-term plan for tourism
The state budget is focusing on reviving tourism that has collapsed in covid. The budget aims to attract more domestic tourists than foreign tourists in the context of covid. The main proposal is to provide a loan of 400 crores through the Kerala Financial Corporation. An additional 50 crore has been set apart for the promotion of the tourism sector.
Literary tourism circuit announced in Malabar. It is a tourism circuit that connects Thunchan Memorial, Beypore, Tasrak, Ponnani, Trithala, and the banks of Bharathapuzha. Biodiversity tourist circuits will be set up in the southern districts. Biodiversity will be set up in Kollam. It is a tourism circuit connecting Ashtamudi Lake, Munroe Island, Kottarakkara, Meenpidippara, Muttaramaruthimala, Jatayu Earth’s Center, Thenmala, and Achankovil, in the Kollam district. An amount of 50 crores has been set apart for these.
To attract tourists, the amphibian vehicle facility will be made available on the beautiful waters and shores of Kerala. The first phase will start in Kollam, Kochi, and Thalassery. An amount of 5 crores has been announced in the budget for this.
