Government will ensure complete vaccination in the tourism sector: Minister Mohammed Riyaz
Efforts are being made to make Kerala Tourism a fully vaccinated sector. The government aims to vaccinate as many people as possible in the tourism sector before next season, Tourism Minister P.A. Muhammad Riyaz said. Tourists will come to Kerala, Only if there is a sense of security. Everyone in the sector should register and complete the vaccination as soon as possible. This is important to revive Kerala tourism in the next season itself.
Hotel, resort, and restaurant sector employees, and all entrepreneurs must register to receive the vaccine. Most of the people in this field are 18-45 years old. The Department of Tourism said, it was decided to vaccinate the employees within their own district itself, which would be implemented soon. Each district will have a nodal officer of the tourism department to lead the vaccination. Also, will have KTM’s liaison officers at all tourism destinations like Munnar and Kumarakom.
90% of hotels, resorts and restaurants are closed. Also, the employees were gone at their own places as well. The method was to upload the hotel’s license as part of the registration and receive the vaccine from their nearest hospital. The response to the vaccination effort had been cold because it was not practical to go to the hotel location and receive the vaccine on the lockdown time, many employees were at distant places.
Only those who have been vaccinated twice will find employment in the tourism sector, this situation will happen in the future. Baby Mathew, President, Kerala Travel Mart (KTM), said.
