Cheengeri Hill is located at an elevation of 2600 ft above sea level in Wayanad. Situated close to the Ambalavayal, this hill offers a variety of adventure and trekking experiences.
Cheengeri Hill has been here for a long time but only a short time ago. This place attracts a lot of tourists. It didn’t take long for Cheengeri Hill s to become a star later on Instagram and Facebook. Although there are many tourist adventure centers in Wayanad, there are few places like Cheengeri Hill where adventure and tourism can be enjoyed together.
Cheengeri Hill stands on the frame of the whole of Wayanad. From the top of the hill, you can see most of the places in Wayanad. The magnificent view of the Karapuzha Reservoir is reminiscent of Mount Kalvary in Idukki. Apart from this, one can also enjoy the aerial view of Kolagappara, Ambalavayal, Bathery, Edakkal, Ambukuthimala, and Chembra Mala. It can be said that there is no other place here that shows Wayanad in such a beautiful 360-degree view. Cheengeri Hill is located opposite Ambukuthimala.
The most important feature of Cheengeri Hill is the newly prepared Chingeri Rock Adventure Tourism. After resting at the base camp, the trekking will start. This is a trekking trek of up to 2 km. Travelers will be taken up in different groups.
Trekking time is from 6.00 am to 12.00 noon and the trekking charge is Rs 80 for adults and Rs 50 for children. Normal tourists are allowed to enter till 4.00 pm. The normal admission rate is Rs 30 for adults and Rs 20 for children.
It also has an entrance plaza with a cloakroom, office room, toilet, party block, pergola, and multi-purpose block. The construction work has been done in such a way that it does not affect the natural beauty of the place. All the rocks can be seen here in the same way as before. Sunrises and sunsets are a must-see here.
