No fog and no offroad! Only soothing views, Athiramala is crazy!
Though already marked on the tourist map of Pathanamthitta, Athiramala has become a popular destination among tourists in recent times. Athiramala, the highest mountain in the Pathanamthitta district, is located at an elevation of 2000 ft above sea level. It is also one of the highest mountains in South Kerala. Therefore, once you reach the top of the hill, you can enjoy a different view of the sky, including places like Pandalam and Adoor. The place is growing as a symbol of Pandalam tourism.
There is no other place like Athiramala where you can enjoy the distant views of Pathanamthitta. From here, one can not only see the Karingali Padasekharam, which is also known as the paddy field of Pandalam, but also the large stream that flows through it.
If you search for the history of Athiramala, you will come across the Adidravida tribal culture. The history of the region describes the peoples and deities who worshiped the deities at that time. The deities mentioned here range from the god Poothadi to the gods Karivillisa Poovilli, Ilavilli, Melethalachchi, Muthappan, and Malakari.
