Ministry of Tourism ( MOT) plans new strategies for revival of tourism in India
Ministry of Tourism is planning an array of promotional activities to help tourism gain its ground, majorly in the domestic market. Ms. Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism sounded very positive speaking about the campaigns and the outcome.
“We are planning to Bring some promotional material at the key airports. We’ve had extensive discussions with the airport’s authority of India and will also be entering into discussions with the private concessionaires at some of the airports to see how the message of Dekho Apna Desh and all the different products of our Incredible India can be showcased to the domestic Travelers. In some of the places, the Billboards have already started. Also putting out our products, in Calcutta we have already put out products. We are working very closely with tour operators. So brochures have started coming out, videos have started coming out from the different regional offices. They are already doing these small boutique events.
Focusing on South Asia southeast Asia also tapping on some newer markets also working on the diaspora because clearly there’s a lot of interest in the diaspora to travel back home to come back to their roots. Social media, of course, is being used in a big way and that’s I think one area where we are getting a lot of response also a lot of user-generated content and interestingly a lot of content is coming from new locations and people are actually traveling to these new cases. I think that is one very encouraging trend.
