Sagara Beach Resort to reopen today
Sagara Beach Resort, Kovalam, will be open to guests from today. The popular beach resort was closed in line with the directions from the government, in order to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sagara’s managing director, R Sisupalan, said it was meaningless to shut business activities for a long time. “So, we have decided to move slowly. We will promote ayurveda to boost immunity of our guests,” he said.
Sagara Beach Resort is adjacent to the Light House at the southern end of Kovalam Beach. It overlooks and shares the Light House beach, the southernmost and most popular part of the crescent-shaped beach, which is the most popular beach destination in South India.
Kovalam is just 14 kms from the International Airport at Thiruvananthapuram, near the southern tip of the Indian Subcontinent.
The resort is constructed in three blocks, having 39 spacious rooms, classified into A/c Deluxe and Suites. Each room has a balcony, with sea view.
Food will be served on `a la carte’ basis, and guests should follow mandatory precautions as prescribed by the government. An over-night stay for two persons will cost Rs 2,500 with breakfast and a day package will cost Rs 1,500 (non A/c).
