Hotels and restaurants to open, as lockdown 5.0 kicks off from Monday
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday announced phase-wise resumption of economic activities in areas outside Covid-19 containment zones.
The guidelines will come into play from June 1 and would be effective till June 30.
Hotels, malls and restaurants to open
Activities to be allowed from June 8 as part of Phase 1 plan: Religious places of worship for public, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services. Shopping malls to be allowed to open from June 8. Health Ministry would issue SOPs for the above activities, in consultation with the Central Ministries/ Departments concerned and other stakeholders, for ensuring social distancing and to contain the spread of COVID-19.
No international air travel yet
Decision on restarting international air travel, metro trains, cinema halls, gym, political gathering will be taken as part of Phase III after assessing situation at that time.
No restrictions on inter-state movement
No restriction on inter-state, intra-state movement of people, goods; no separate permission required for such travels.
Railways back on track
The Indian Railways has already announced that 100 pairs of trains will start running from Monday (June 1). Bookings for these trains are open, and you can book your seat/berth up to 30 days in advance.
Night curfew
The night curfew shall continue to remain in place. However, its timing has been relaxed. It will now be observed from 9 pm to 5 am.
So what’s prohibited?
International flights, metro trains, cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places will remain out of bounds for now.
