Hilton’s new Singapore property by early 2022
Hilton’s new Singapore property is all set to become the hospitality major’s Asia-Pacific flagship. The new hotel is expected to be ready by early 2022, and will have over 1,000 rooms, five restaurants and bars and suites.
Located in the middle of the Orchard Road shopping strip, the Hilton Singapore Orchard is in fact a $90 million make-over of the Mandarin Orchard Singapore.
An extensive refurbishment will precede the rebranding, which will be underpinned by new meeting facilities to meet growing demand for regional and global conferences, including three ballrooms.
Work is scheduled to begin by mid-year, as the current low levels of occupancy across Singapore “present a timely opportunity for us to carry out extensive renovations” said Tan Shu Lin, head of Mandarin Orchard.
“The rebranded hotel is expected to be ready in time to take advantage of the sector’s anticipated recovery.”
First up will be a phased renovation of the Main Tower guest rooms and lobby, plus development of new meeting spaces. A second stage of works, due to begin by year’s end, will see an upgrade of the Orchard Wing rooms and the construction of an Orchard Wing club lounge and gym.
