Uzbekistan to introduce attractive incentive scheme for film tourism in 2020
With an aim to encourage more Indian film productions to shoot in its scenic and historic locations, the Central Asian Republic of Uzbekistan is planning to roll out an attractive incentive scheme next year.
“There will be 20 per cent capital subsidy available for film production units interested to shoot films in Uzbekistan from 2020. Twenty per cent of the expenses incurred for film production in Uzbekistan will be reimbursed by the Uzbek government to make it an attractive proposition for film production companies,” said Temurbek, Representative of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan intends to expand tourism co-operation and people to people contacts with India and the visit of the high-level delegation is a step in that direction. The number of Indian tourists visiting Uzbekistan has doubled in the last two years,” said Farhod Arziev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Moreover, to further strengthen the tourist flow from India, Uzbekistan Tourism will open tourism information offices across key cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, etc.
