Kerala’s monsoon carnival, the Wayanad Splash begins
Wayanad is all set to welcome travel trade professionals and travellers from across the world for the much awaited Wayanad Splash 2019. This unique festival celebrates Rain Tourism, making the most daunting and dormant period of the year more marketable. This year tour operators, media and travel experts come together at Vythiri Village between July 11 and July 14 to experience and promote the monsoon carnival.
Splash, a joint venture by Kerala Tourism, Government of Kerala and the Wayanad Tourism Organisation, is a biannual calendar event held in July to showcase the numerous tourist attractions and activities in Wayanad district.
The Splash B2B Meet is an excellent opportunity for meeting and interaction of buyers and sellers. Hotels, Resorts, Homestays, Tour Operators, Medical Tourism, Ayurveda Resorts & Plantation Resorts will exhibit their properties and products. This year, Resorts & Homestays from neighbouring areas like Coorg, Nilgiris, Mysore, Kannur, Kasargod and Bekal are also participating in the event. More than 400 travel agents participate in Splash B2B meet section and interact with various property owners in Wayanad every year. Splash B2B meet section is one of the best travel selling meets in kerala.
Destination visit, Property visit, Outdoor activities, Adventure activities, Cultural programmes, and Sponsored programmes are some of the other major highlights of the event.
The B2B meet will be inaugurated by Balakiran IAS, Director, Kerala Tourism and the the B2B Valedictory function will be inaugurated by Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Tourism, Govt of Kerala. Suman Billa IAS, Jt Secretary – Tourism, Govt of India; Rani George IAS, Secretary – Tourism, Govt of Kerala and H E Dr Saud Mohammed Al-Safi, the Saudi Ambassador in India, Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia will be present at the B2B session on July 12. The Wayanad Splash is bringing fifteen social media influencers from Saudi Arabia for the 2019 edition. The social media influencer’s visit, sponsored by Kerala Tourism, is going to give a fillip to tourism in Wayanad.
