World’s first handicraft hotel opens in Vishakapatnam, AP
The Palm Beach Hotel, a sister concern of LeSutra, Mumbai, opened the doors to its heritage wing, ‘Andhra Arts and Crafts Hotel’ recently in Vishakapatnam. Talking of being different, their new wing, a ‘Microcosm of Andhra’ boasts of around 70 sculptures and 50 art installations.
The hotel, designed on the three qualities namely, Tamas, Rajas and Satva, aims to preserve and bring forth the local craftsmanship of Andhra Pradesh. It is also the world’s first Indian art hotel and tribal art home.
The hotel promises to be a unique destination not only for leisure. The hotel provides a secure private beach, an outdoor swimming pool and four in-house restaurants where guests can indulge in some speciality cuisines. Additionally, each guest is presented with a souvenir at the end of their stay that represents the art and craft of Andhra Pradesh.
“Our aim to create the ‘Heart of Andhra’ within Vizag and give our guests a curated experience of Andhra Pradesh,” said Sandeep Reddy, General Manager.
With the additional 24 boutique rooms, the property has joined the ranks of 50 art hotels the world over. The hotel stands alone with its uniqueness by being the only handicrafts hotel in the world.
