29 tourism activities to get industry status in Uttarakhand
With the aim of increasing tourism activities in the state, Uttarakhand tourism department has given industry status to 29 new activities. Issuing the notification, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has issued orders to provide financial incentives and other facilities under the policy.
Satpal Maharaj, Tourism & Culture Minister of Uttarakhand, said that now the businessmen of the tourism sector will be able to avail status of industry for the tourism activities. A notification has been issued regarding new activities of tourism.
“This will motivate the local youth for self-employment and get benefit from the schemes of industry department and tourism department,” said Maharaj.
“29 new activities are marked as per the present environment with the aim of promoting capital investment and creating employment opportunities in tourism activities related to service sector in the state,” said Dilip Javalkar, Tourism Secretary.
Hotels, floating resorts and jetties, expanses of existing hotels and resorts, heritage hotels, yoga, Ayurveda and naturopathy resorts, spa and health resorts, health resorts, eco-lodges, tourism resorts, tourism villages etc., are among the 29 activates, those will get industry standard in the state.
Adventure Activities like Trekking, Rock Climbing, Water Sports, Boat Race, Skating, Fishing, Rugby, Funicular, Motor House etc., are also in the list.
