One month long Jatayu Carnival kick-starts in Chadayamangalam
The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, has inaugurated the one-month long Jatayu Carnival at Chadayamangalam in Kollam. “Jatayu Earth’s Centre has the potential to be the most popular destination,” said the chief minister after inaugurating the Carnival.
“The Earth’s Centre area is very pleasant and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Yoga centre, Ayurveda centre, adventure tourism and the state of the art cable car system are all of international standard,” he said.
Pinarayi Vijayan has also unveiled a stone plaque which carries the inscript of a poem on Jatayu rock penned by famous poet ONV Kurup. The CM has also unveiled the logo of Heritage Desinganadu, which aims is to promote Kollam and to provide a distinctive experience for tourists who are visiting Kollam.
The carnival, which is open from 5 pm to 9 pm on all days, will feature cultural and social evenings and ethnic food festival. The Carnival will conclude on January 22.
Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran, N K Premachandran M P, TOurism Secretary Rani George, Tourism Director P Balakiran, Jatayu Earth’s Centre CMD Rajiv Anchal, CEO B Ajith Kumar were also present at the function.
