Orange Festival kick starts in Dambuk, Arunachal Pradesh
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has flagged of the `JK Tyre Orange 4X4 Fury’, as part of the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music, on 15th December 2018. The event is organised at Dambuk by Arunachal Tourism.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that as connectivity improves in the North East, the states will compete with each other to attract tourists.
Tourism festivals in the state such as Ziro Festival of Music, Mechuka Adventure Festival and Orange Festival have been attracting thousands of tourists to the state, said the minister.
The chief minister said the Orange Festival (OFAM) initially met with skepticism, but now it is gaining wide acceptance among the locals.
“OFAM is growing bigger and better every year and will benefit local tribal communities economically,” said Khandu.
According to state officials, the festival is also attracting international tourists, putting the state on the global tourism map.
In the company of rain-forest clad mountains, the orange orchards, the mighty Himalayan Rivers, the music and adventure lovers, the bands with music from around the globe and the awesome weather of Arunachal Pradesh. The setting of this place already reached palpable energy after the flag off and now the bands are taking over to make the crowd groove and jump to the music soon after.
Festival Director, Abu Tayeng and Local MLA, Gum Tayeng. Dambuk, Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom and Vikram Malhotra, Marketing Director JK Tyre & Industries Limited were among other dignitaries that graced the grand opening the OFAM
