Amaravati to be an international tourism hub: AP Chief Minsiter

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that Andhra Pradesh has vast potential for tourism development, and Amaravati would be developed as international tourism hub.

The CM was speaking on the occasion of the three day Amaravati Air show 2018 at Punnamii ghat in Vijayawada, which concluded on Sunday. The CM said AP was ahead in tourism development, happiness index, ease of doing business and GSDP.

“Amaravati has turned to be a hub of international events. It is suitable for organizing air shows and the Amaravati air show is a huge success, providing feast to the eyes of lakhs of people,” said Naidu.

The state has organized a social media award function recently, followed by the Formula 1 H2O boat race, in which Abu Dhabi bagged the award. Naidu said that efforts of the government were on to get international recognition for Andhra Pradesh by conducting global events.

“There is vast scope for tourism development in the State and once the tourism sector is developed, youth will get more employment opportunities. With the development of tourism sector, the hotel industry and service sector will also grow,” added Naidu.

Ministers Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Kollu Ravindra, MP Kesineni Srinivas, ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha, mayor Koneru Sridhar, secretary (I&PR) B Ramanjaneyulu, tourism secretary Mukesh kumar Meena, CEO Himansu Sukla, collector B Lakshmikantam, city police commissioner Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, Municipal commissioner J Nivas, Joint collector II P Babu Rao and others were present.
