Kerala awarded the Best Honeymoon Destination in India
After got recognized for the initiatives in Responsible Tourism at the World Travel Market, which concluded in London recently; Kerala tourism has bagged another prestigious award – the Best Honeymoon Destination in India – at the 7th edition of readers’ choice India’s Best Awards, organized by magazine Travel + Leisure India and South Asia.
The award was received by Sreekumar, Deputy Director for Kerala Tourism at a function held at ITC Maurya in New Delhi.
Kerala also got two more awards in other categories. Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty was awarded the Best New Hotel in domestic category, while Kumarakam Lake Reosrt in Alappuzha received the Best Destination Spa award (domestic)
Tourism Minister Kadkampalli Surendran said that with these awards, the merits of Kerala being one of the best tourism states have been reconfirmed.
“Kerala is a favorite destination for honeymooners and young people. This perception has been proved once again,” said Rani George, Tourism Secretary of Kerala.
The winners were selected through online voting conducted through the website. Nearly two lakh voters took part in online voting done from August to October.
