Kedar Jadhav to be the chief guest in house boat rally
Indian cricket team all-rounder Kedar Jadhav will be the chief guest in the first-ever house boat rally to be taken place in Alappuzha on 2nd November 2018. Organizers are expecting that the event will mark a new Guinness World Record.
The boat rally is part of the comprehensive campaigns of Alappzuha District Tourism Promotion Council with the tag line ‘Back to Backwaters’ to convey the message that Alappuzha is ready to receive tourists to its backwaters.
The event will kick start at 8:00 Am, with a bike rally of women, which will start from Alappuzha beach and conclude at the boat race finishing point. A photo exhibition will be arranged at the venue, depicting how Alappuzha has survived the floods and returning to normal life. At 10:30 Am, Kadakampally Surendran, Tourism Minister, will flag of the boat rally. Tourism Director P Balakiran also will participate in the event.
250 house boats, 100 shikara boats and a bunch of small boats will participate in the rally. The boat rally will long for 3 hours. Those who attend the rally can have the chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of the backwaters for free. Interested people have to register their names with DTPC.
