Cochin airport to have 8 new direct flights from 28th October
Winter flight schedule for the Cochin International Airport will be effective from Sunday, 28th October 2018. This will continue until 30th March 2019. As per the new schedule CIAL will have direct flights for 8 more cities. New services will be started for Goa, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Nagpur, Lucknow and Guwahati. Two cities with connection flights – Jaipur and Kolkata will have direct flights as per the new schedule.
As per the current schedule there are 1360 services per week; this will be increased to 1734 as per winter schedule. There will be 124 landing and 124 take-off per day.
Indigo and GoAir will start direct flights to Goa. Indigo will take-off at 9.40 PM every night, while GoAir starts at 3.2AM. It has been informed that Indigo will start service from 1st December and GoAir will start its service from 15th November. All other new services will by Indigo Flights.
Once the winter schedule become operational, the number of cities with direct flights from Cochin airport will become 21. As per the winter schedule, GoAir will have 7 additional services, while Indigo will have 14 and Air India will have 1 additional service. Meanwhile, SpiceJet has cancelled two services.
In international sector, Indigo will start additional services to Kuwait and Mali.
