Emirates Airline and Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam sign MoU for promotion of tourism and trade
Emirates Airlines of UAE has signed MoU with Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam to boost tourism and trade.
The agreement was inked during the visit of Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, to UAE with a delegation.
Emirates Airlines signed three MoUs to facilitate tourism and trade in Vietnam’s largest and most visited city, stated the Dubai government-controlled airline.
“Vietnam is a very important destination within Emirates’ network,” said Badr Abbas, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for the Far East
“Since we launched our service to Ho Chi Minh City in 2012, Emirates has carried more than 1.25 million passengers on the route,” he added.
Vietnam tourism industry expects the MoU will enhance the tourism activities in the country.
According to the report of World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) the total contribution by Vietnam’s tourism sector to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) was USD 20.6 billion in 2017, depicting 9.4 per cent of the total GDP.
