100 member Australian tourists team to visit Kerala to experience village life

While Kerala’s tourism sector is gaining momentum after the recent floods, more tourists from around the world has been arriving to the state to experience the God’s own country. A group of 100 Australians will be arriving at Alappuzha on 26th September 2018. The group consist of the members and supporters of an international music band, ‘Australian World Orchestra’.

The tour programme is organized by WanderNow, a Kochi based tour operator, who organizes experiential trips for their clients. It was announced by the company in a press meeting at Ernakulam Press Club on 22nd September 2018.

“We are trying to bring tourists to Kerala from abroad, when most of them are reluctant to visit the state after the devastating floods that damaged most of our tourism destinations,” said the organizers in the press meet.

The Australian team will first visit Alappuzha and experience the backwater cruise in house boats. They will also have  opportunity to interact with the local communities and understand the way of village life and the bio-diversity of the region.  They will be introduced to the products made from Water Hyacinth and Clams.

Later the team will visit the organic farms, indigenous coir manufacturing units etc in the area.  They will also be given an opportunity to visit our Kudumbasree units to understand their objectives and operations. “We wish to make the tourists experience the special feature of our villages and give them an unforgettable trip, when the go back to their country,” said Nebu Sam John, COO of WanderNow.
