Bihar to celebrate World Tourism Day with a difference

Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) is organizing various recreational activities to mark the World Tourism Day, which falls on 27th September. The festivities will start on 18th September with the title ‘Paryatan Parv’, means tourism festival. The events include Yoga, meditation and photography competition.

Themes of the photographic completion are heritage, forests and wildlife, people, art, festivals and fair in Bihar. Entries for the competition have to be submitted on or before 17th September. A five member panel will select the winners.

The celebrations will start with a Yoga camp at Golghar on 18th September at 7 AM. BSTDC will provide yoga mats for the participants. Another yoga session will be held at the UNASCO accredited heritage site, the remains of the Nalanda University, on September 20th September.

Budha Smriti Park at Patna and Mahabodhi Mahavihara at Bodh Gaya will have yoga sessions on 22nd and 24th September, respectively.

An official conclusion programme will be held at Adhiveshan Bhawan on 27th September, the World Tourism Day. Prizes of the photography competition will be distributed in the event.

This year’s World Tourism Day will be celebrated with a tagline ‘Tourism and the Digital Transformation’, aiming at creating awareness on contribution of the digital technology to sustainable tourism development.
