This Onam, pack your bags to Jatayu Earths Center
Onam celebrations are around the corner. All are searching for the perfect location to spend the holidays with their friends, family and relatives. Tourists – local and foreign- are also looking for the best place to visit during the festive season. For those who want to have fun, a bit of adventure and to appraise the natural beauty of Kerala, a perfect tourist destination is going to be functional on ‘Chingam 1’ of Malayalam calendar (considered as the beginning of the Malayalam calendar year) or 17th August 2018.
Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala, will light the lamp to inaugurate the most awaited Jatayu Earths Center and adventure park at Chadayamangalam, Kollam. Considered to be the largest bird sculpture, built on 750 feet high rock, Jadayu rock is already a sought after tourism destination of the world.
Besides the scenic beauty and the serene atmosphere, Jatayu Earths Center is going to be a perfect place for adventure seekers. Lots of adventure activities have been arranged there to woo the visitors.
Among the other attractions, cable cars to reach the top of the rock would be the main element to lure the tourists visiting Jatayu rock. Around 16 cable cars have been arranged to take tourists to the rock top. The Swiss-made equipment have been shipped to Kochi and been transported via road to reach the destination. The cable car system costs around Rs 40 crores. The rope-way is constructed with the highest quality standards and it will take only 10 minutes to reach the top of the rock from the base station. North India based Usha Breco Limited was responsible for the implementation of the cable car system.
It is after around 10 years’ waiting the Jatayu Earth Center is becoming fully functional on 17th August. It is expected to be one of the main tourist attractions of south Kerala during this Onam season.
