Soccer success boosts Croatia tourism

Croatia reached the finals of FIFA World Cup 2018 surprising all. And, after enjoying a stupendous support from fans across the world, now it has become favourite tourist destination for Chinese tourists.

Reports are coming out that the flight bookings and hotel bookings are are surging with its popularity, which is likely to last until the National Day holiday. Qunar, the largest online travel agency in China, has also reported that the China to Croatia flight tickets has doubled since Croatia took part in the soccer finals.

There are a number of attractions in Croatia, ranging from sites of historic architectural and religious significance to famed ecological points of interest and museums.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

Dubrovnik, Croatia’s most glamorous tourist destination, is declared a UNESCO world heritage site. The old town of Split, which houses the Cathedral of St. Domnius, is a pedestrian-only city.

Zagreb, capital of Croatia hosts Zagrebfest, the oldest Croatian pop-music festival, as well as other traditional international sports events and tournaments. The Day of the City of Zagreb on November 16 is celebrated every year with special festivities, especially on the Jarun lake near the southwestern part of the city.

In 2017, Croatia had 17.4 million tourist visitors who made 86.2 million overnight stays. Croatia’s tourism revenues amounted €9.5 billion in 2017.
