Kerala Tourism organises roadshow in Odisha
Kerala tourism has organized a roadshow in Bhubaneswar to attract domestic travellers from the state. Kerala is expecting at least 10 per cent domestic tourists from Odisha this year.
Around 7-8 per cent tourists from Odisha visited Kerala last year. Kerala tourism eyes to increase it up to 10 per cent this year. The roadshow showcased the presentation of a short 30-minute cultural programme, a visual storytelling that showcased the various art forms of Kerala. Tagged ‘ComeOutandPlay’, the campaign is aimed at domestic travellers who have been seeing Kerala as an antidote to urban experiences and as the antithesis of routine. The campaign explores the possibilities of activity-based tourism and urges the people to come out from the comforts of their home and the electronic gadgets o sweat it out in Kerala.
The Tourism department will organize similar roadshows in Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Lucknow, Indore, Nagpur, Pune, and Mumbai in the next few months.
The domestic footfall increased to 14,67,3520, registering a growth of 11.39 per cent compared to the previous year. Kerala has been selected as the Best Leisure Destination by Conde Nast Traveller and NatGeotraveller. The state won six National Tourism Awards last year and was recently chosen by Lonely Planet Magazine as the Best Destination for Families (India) 2018.
