Mini tourism conclave in Tehri on Aug 7
The tourism department of Dehradun has decided to hold a mini conclave on tourism and wellness industry in Tehri on August 7, ahead of its investors meet.
The two-day Investor Summit will be held in October. It was decided that four mini conclaves would be organised by the State Government in Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital and Haridwar. In Tehri – Wellness and Tourism Conclave; in Udham Singh Nagar – Food Processing and Auto Conclave; in Nainital – Film Shooting and Tourism Conclave and in Haridwar – Ayurveda, Herbal, Aromatic and AYUSH Conclave would be organised.
The department has also decided to give 10 guest houses each of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam and Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam to private parties to run on PPP mode.
The department is eyeing five key projects in Tehri – a theme-based restaurant, a hill resort, a lake side resort, a hotel and an Aayush centre – where investors would be asked to invest on PPP mode.
Reports are also being prepared for ropeway projects from Gaurikund to Kedarnath, Govindghat to Ghangaria, Ranibagh to Nanital, Dehradun to Mussoorie and for Yamunotri, according to TOI. “The reports will tell the investors about different sectors and how and where to invest,” said tourism secretary Dilip Jawalkar.
