Uzbekistan introduces e-visas for 51 countries, including India
Uzbekistan will start issuing an electronic visa for citizens of 51 countries, including India, from July 15. It also announced a 5-day visa-free transit regime for 101 countries.
An electronic visa will be issued for a period of 30 days in the territory of Uzbekistan with a single entry. The issued electronic visa will be valid for 90 days from the date of its issuance. The time for consideration of applications for registration and issuance of an electronic visa is two working days, excluding the day the application was filed. Therefore, the application for processing an electronic visa must be submitted at least three working days before the planned date of trip to Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Embassy said in a statement.
The issued electronic visa would be sent to the e-mail address of the foreign citizen indicated when applying to the official web portal of the “E-VISA.UZ” system. The portal operates in Uzbek, English, Russian and other languages and provides information on the status of application and the issued electronic visa, on the basis of a unique identification number assigned to the appeal.
“The consular fee for processing and issuing an E-visa is 20 USD. Foreign citizens, who are aged under 16, provided they hold an international passport or a biometric travel document and are accompanied by their legal representatives, may enter and stay in Uzbekistan for the validity period of the entry visa of the accompanying person, but not longer than 90 days from the date of entry into Uzbekistan. Should foreign citizens reach the age of 16 during their stay in Uzbekistan, an exit visa shall be issued by the migration and citizenship registration offices within the established procedure,” the release said.
The procedure for registering a group visa is similar to the procedure for an individual visa. “Should foreign citizens reach the age of 16 during their stay in Uzbekistan, an exit visa shall be issued by the migration and citizenship registration offices within the established procedure,” the statement said.
