Ready for a road trip to Bhutan?
Those who like long drive have a golden opportunity to fulfill their dream – that too crossing the border of the country. The event is organized by ByRoad, a group of travel enthusiasts. The event named “Bhutan By Road”, is a long drive to our neighbouring country Bhutan, through Silguri, West Bengal.
‘Bhutan-by-Road’ is a 14 day self-driving tour starts from Siliguri (West Bengal) through Bhutan and ends in Guwahati.
Travellers have three options to take the car from their home to Siliguri and back. You can either drive it down yourselves from your residence/home city. ByRoad will provide necessary assistance as and when it is required. The organization is all the more happy to provide you a driver support to take you to and from Siliguri. It is also making arrangements to ferry your cars by big trailers if you don’t wish to drive all the way up to Siliguri.
The event starts on 14th August 2018 and ends on 28th August. The organizers will provide services such as border crossing permits and assistance; flight tickets to Silguri and from Guwahati; vehicle transportation; bed and breakfast; medical and mechanical assistance; routes and activities planning; inner line permits for restricted areas and back-up crew and vehicles.
Participants can have choice of accommodation, from the enlisted hotels, subject to availability. The travellers can select from any of these hotels: Sarovar Portico, Siliguri; Hotel Park, Phuentsholing; Tashi Phuntshok, Paro; Hotel Osel, Thimpu; Zhingkham, Punakha; Ugyen Ling, JAkar; Lengkhar Resort, Trashigang; Tashi Gasel, Saamdrup Jonkhar; and Kiranshree Grand, Guwahati.
Travellers can have a number of fun/entertainment activities on the way including trekking and meditation at Tigers Nest- Paro, rafting at Punakha, learning archery a hot dip shower at hot water spring at Bumthang, taste the national dish of Bhutan – Ema Datschi, wear the national apparels of Bhutan – Gho & Kira etc.
ByRoad will not provide you vehicle and fuel, meals and drinks which are not mentioned, vehicle servicing, repairs, traffic fines or parking penalties and any costs arising out of unforeseen delay like land block, bad weather etc. The organization will arrange to and fro vehicle transportation at additional cost of Rs 1 lakh.
