PATA India’s ‘Tourism Powerhouse 2018’ to be held in Delhi
PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) India Chapter has announced that it will organize its inaugural ‘The Tourism Powerhouse’ from August 5-6, 2018 at The Park in New Delhi.
The event will feature interactive sessions for PATA India members on the tourism industry-related subjects. Rashmi Verma, Secretary – Tourism, Government of India and Chairperson, PATA India Chapter has unveiled the logo for Tourism Powerhouse 2018 at the 7th Update & Outlook Meeting hosted by PATA India Chapter & Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India at The Claridges, New Delhi. Suman Billa, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and MP Mall, Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) were also present at the function.
The PowerHouse will be presided over by Verma and Mario Hardy, CEO, PATA. “We hope to draw eminent speakers from all over the world to speak on contemporary issues like responsible tourism, sustainable tourism, marketing, digital marketing, etc. Eminent speakers will be invited from various countries who will be sharing global trends, initiatives and the best practices required to emulate in our country. We are hopeful that apart from the industry, state tourism boards, other organisations and stakeholders will also be participating because it is going to be a very useful interaction for us as well as all the stakeholders who have a stake in promoting tourism to this country,” said Verma.
The event will have seven interactive sessions conducted during the two-day initiative by PATA India. “A variety of topics which concern the industry both in terms of growth and enablers shall be the focus areas of discussion during the Powerhouse sessions. Sections like luxury travel and increase in young travellers in the last decade will be some of the important agendas which will be discussed at length during the two-day affair,” said Runeep Sangha, Executive Director, PATA India Chapter.
Hardy and Verma will be conducting sessions during the event. Hardy’s session will deliberate on ‘Impact of digital economy’, while Verma’s session will discuss ‘How to better harness tourism opportunities in India’.
