Apart from the foreign delegates, people from different parts of the state also participated in the mass yoga demonstration.
The mass yoga demonstration was organized as part of the 4th International Yoga Day. The program was conducted as per the Common Yoga Protocol of the Ayush Ministry. Dr. Arun Thejus from Sreechithra, Thiruvananthapuram headed the event. Though, there have been number of yoga programs in and around the state, the yoga event organized by ATTOI was a unique experience due to the diversity of the participants.
Participation of the renowned film actress Navya Nair in the event has added to its elegance. “It was a unique experience to do yoga with the foreign delegates of Yoga Ambassadors Tour and I am so delighted to have this opportunity”, Navya said.
The Yoga Ambassadors Tour was flagged off on 14th June 2018 at Kovalam. The delegates have already visited Kanyakumari, Amruthapuri, Kumarakam, Thekkadi, Munnar etc during their expedition and the tour will conclude on 21st June at Kochi. “With this event, Kerala is expected to be the capital of yoga tourism”, said ATTOI President P K Aneesh Kumar and Secretary V Sreekumar. “This has also given stimulation to the tourism industry, which has been almost latent due to the outbreak of Nipah, last month”, they added.
