YAT2018 is a journey to the great Indian Heritage: Shripad Naik

“Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018 is a journey to the great Indian Heritage,” stated Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State, (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. He was inaugurating the Yoga Ambassadors Tour – first-of its-kind event- in India, at The Leela Raviz Hotel, Kovalam today. “The concept of ‘the world towards India’ has become a reality by this event,” he added. The Yoga Ambassadors Tour is organized by Association of Tourism Trade Organizers India (ATTOI), in association with Ayush Ministry, Govt of India and Kerala Tourism.

Kerala is already ahead in health and Ayurveda sector and has a significant place in yoga also. Apart from Yoga, the tour includes other specialties Kerala, such as trekking, house boat etc. Naik expressed hope that the tour would help the delegates understand the Yoga heritage of India.

“Kerala, which is already ahead in almost every walk of life, has set forth another example towards the world in the form of Yoga Ambassadors Tour,” said the Tourism Kadakampalli Surendran, Minister for Tourism, Govt of Kerala. “One of the major aims of Yoga is to make people optimistic and peace loving. The muniyara caves in Munnar depicts our heritage in Yoga,” he added.

“The delegates from different parts of the world are not just ambassadors of yoga, but the future brand ambassadors of Kerala,” said  Tourism Secretary, Rani George. Renjith Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ayush Ministry, feels that apart from tourism, the event will also highlight the spirituality in yoga.

The Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018 is organized by ATTOI (Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India), in association with Ministry of Ayush and Kerala Tourism. The event, aimed to propagate Kerala as a global destination, is taking around 60-plus Yoga professionals from across the world to different destinations in Kerala to experience and explore yoga and the destinations. The delegates include Yoga Tour operators, Wellness Magazine professionals, and Yoga Teachers from across the world. The 10-day educational tour will conclude on International Yoga Day, which falls on June 21.
